5 Happy things | October 2016

As we waved goodbye to October and Halloween, I thought I would do the 5 happy things October, which is my little gratitude list. Also now we can start being all excited about Christmas. Then again, I was singing Christmas songs since mid October and I feel no shame.

5 happy things October

Green Park, London 2016 October

5 Happy things

  • Autumn Leaves –  The leaves start to turn orange and golden are beautiful.  They are so beautiful that you can’t help but appreciate the nature and everything.

  • Rituals – I had to go into the Apple store in Covent garden the other day and I went past Rituals, the lady outside gave me a sample of a hand cream and I went inside for a little hand massage. Wow I fell in love with the products, especially the Sakura range.

  •  Sharing posts that are more personal – I shared a post on LOA and living with intentions and I received positive feedback which made me happy.

  • Poetry – Well, I write poetry and I have a separate Instagram account for about a little over a month now for it and that hit 1000 followers and I have gotten so many amazing comments on it there.

  • Cake – I was really craving for a certain cake, told mum about it and she just surprised me with it on Saturday, I was actually so excited.

It is a great feeling when you feel like everything is going great and that things will always work out for the best. I am excited for what November brings.

What are you grateful for ? what are you looking forward to?

Hi Elise, I agree with your post: your personal posts have been well received.
    I’m a fan!

Can you give me any tips on self-hosting? Because I have just started a WordPress blog but I’m unhappy with the current restrictions, WordPress seems to have, on layout customization, font selections, etc. I’m not as technical as I would like to be and I’m really just a pay at once sort of person so I hope self-hosting is not as complex.

By the way, where can I read your poetry?

    • Elise B

      Thank you Rachel.

Self hosting isn’t hard actually, I currently use bluehost and they’ve been pretty helpful to me. So I would recommend using them if you want to self-host.
Add the domain you want there,
Export your wordpress contents and import them there when you have transferred your DNS from wordpress to the self hosting site; if you contact them they can easily do it.
You will have to pay every year, self-hosting fees. Hope this helped, I can give you more details if you want, just email me 🙂
My poetry, I share on Instagram under @elisemichaelpoetry

Thanks Elise! If I’m in any difficulty regarding self-hosting, I will be sure to email you for advice. By the way, your poetry is lovely. I will be following your blog posts and poetry closely. You got a new fan!
